Hurricanes Ingrid and Manuel hit and destroyed Venta Vieja’s town. Thanks to the teamwork among the local government, several foundations and the society, the community was relocated and many houses, better roadways, lighting and water infrastructure and schools were built in addition to a church at the request of the neighbors.
